Pastor Chuck Beickel has been leading Faith Baptist Church since October 3, 1999. He grew up in the Imbler, Oregon area and attended the same school from elementary through high school. He came to know Christ at the age of 6 years old and was baptized shortly after. He gave his life to the Lord at a youth conference in Milton-Freewater, Oregon in the 9th grade, and later went on to attend Bible college. He spent one year at Pensacola Christian College before transferring to Trinity Baptist College. In 1989, he became the Pastor at Summerville Baptist Church in Summerville, Oregon. The Lord called him to Faith Baptist Church in Layton, Utah August of 1999.
In 2011, God brought him to Tammie and they were married August 5th of that same year. Pastor gained two daughters in addition to his four grown sons. Tammie grew up in the South, living in North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia before moving to Utah with Pastor. As the daughter of a retired pastor, she is familiar with church ministry. She is passionate about the women's ministry here at Faith. Tammie believes that staying connected to other Christian women is the key to growth in Christ, and is truly what the ministry is all about.
Pastor Beickel's goal for Faith Baptist Church is to reach Utah and the world with Christ, through community outreach, missions, and the media ministry. He has a heart for seniors and rehabilitation for both men and women. He is excited to see what the Lord will do in this area through Faith. His goal is to have strong discipleship, strong evangelism, and for each member of Faith Baptist to find their gifts and purpose, and to joyfully enter the ministry of Christ.
Pastor enjoys almost anything outdoors! Some of his favorite activities are handball, pickleball, cycling, hunting, and fishing! Pastor and Tammie have 6 children, 8 grandchildren, and love to spend as much time as possible with their family!
Pastor Rod Hall came to Utah at the age of 10 when his father was stationed at Hill Air Force Base. His family began attending Faith Baptist Church shortly after. He met Jeannie in jr. high school and they were married 7 years later, in July of 1998. Though he had come to know Christ at the young age of 5, on New Year's Eve of 1998, Pastor Hall fully surrendered his life to the Lord. Pastor Hall and Jeannie knew right away that the Lord was leading them into His ministry. They committed themselves to student ministries and have been serving for 25 years!
Pastor Hall and Jeannie strive to create a place of refuge for young people where they know they can be themselves in an environment that ultimately points to the true Refuge, Jesus Christ. Their goal is to inspire young people to develop an authentic and dynamic love relationship with Christ. They know that a close walk with God is the key to navigating this life. God has given them a true passion for young people and they absolutely love what they do! They desire others to know and experience the joy of serving the Lord.
Pastor Hall earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and Pastoral Counseling with emphasis in temperament therapy, and is an invaluable resource for those in need. He loves being around people, eating good food, and weight training. He even holds the state and national record for bench press! He also enjoys fly fishing and spending time with his family!
Pastor Rafael Higuera grew up in a small town in Mexico called Tamazula II, where his family served as missionaries. During his first summer back in the states, Rafael attended Silver State Baptist Youth Camp in Sedalia, Colorado. Through the preaching, God helped him realize that he had been relying on his parents' work for the Lord, rather than his own relationship with Jesus. Here, Rafael accepted Christ as his personal Savior.
After high school, he attended West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California. He has been servingin Christian Ministry ever since. He spent 11 months in Cojutepeque, El Salvador, as an interim pastor and school administrator. He then went back to Lancaster, California, to be an intern in the Spanish Ministry. While there, and in addition to Spanish outreach, he also led the children's ministry. He has served as the Assistant Pastor at First Baptist Church of Longbeach, CA, and Pastor at Calvary Baptist in Silver City, NM. He has been highly involved in children's ministry, and is ready to join the work God is doing here at Faith!
While Rafael was interning at Lancaster Baptist Church, he met his wife, Roció, who was serving as the secretary. Roció grew up in El Paso, Texas, where she received Christ as Savior at 8 years old, at Vacation Bible School. At 19, she was baptized, surrendered her life to the Lord, and began attending West Coast Baptist College. God has blessed Rafael and Roció with three boys and one girl: Junior, Eddie, Ricky, and Roselyn. In their free time, both Rafael and Roció enjoy spending time with their family, whether inside or outside.
Rafael is also looking forward to exploring some great trails here in Utah with his UTV! Pastor Rafael believes that children have so much potential for the Lord. They are not only important to God, but they matter to the church as well. He wants to create a safe environment, where kids learn to love the Lord, have a relationship with Him, and desire to serve Him NOW. He also wants to inspire and train volunteers to love serving in the children's ministry, and help them to make a lasting impact in the lives of these children. Rafael's goal if fourfold: reaching children with the Gospel, rescuing children from the world, rooting children in God's Word, and releasing children to be difference makers. Rafael truly loves the ministry and being able to bring to people the Hope and help through Jesus Christ. He says serving God with his life and family is the best, and definitely an adventure worth going on.
Jeannie was born and raised in Utah. She attended North Davis Junior High, Clearfield High, and Weber State University. She met Pastor Hall in 7th grade, and began attending Faith Baptist with his family. She came to know Christ at the age of 14. At a youth conference in April of 2000, Jeannie surrendered her life to the Lord and to the ministry of young people!
In addition to getting involved with student ministries, Jeannie became the church secretary in 2000, serving in this ministry for 7 years. In 2007, with small children, she felt the need to shift her focus to raising her kids. In 2019, God allowed her to re-enter this ministry. She has the highest regard for the great responsibility she's been given in the connection of what goes on behind the scenes. God has given her a gift for organization and administration. She loves coordinating, serving people, and connecting them through information.
Jeannie loves spending time with her husband and kids, and serving the Lord through the ministries He has given her. She enjoys crafting, camping, hiking, and spending time in the mountains! She and Pastor Hall have 5 children and 2 grandchildren.
